Proto January Edition: Technology Tracks – Revealed.

Hello Everyone,

Well, Well, I really hope that You didn’t expect that it would be an easy choice to make between being in the Business Track or the Technology Track, Did you? I really do hope you didn’t, especially since I have been working hard to ensure that both the tracks offer equally enticing topics.

I’ve always kinda had the thought in the back of my mind that while the potential “CEO” would attend the business tracks, the CTO would attend the technology tracks – or maybe it could be the vice versa to get a feel for each other’s area of expertise.

So what can one expect from the Technology Tracks this time? Well, here’s the logic behind the putting together of the topics.

There is a world beyond the web and mashups. Yep, I really wish I could say that again. While services and building companies related to the web are relatively very simple, I believe there is much more to explore beyond that sector – with interactive mechanisms such as surface computing just outside the doorstep, with communications going beyond the voice, the scope that areas such as defense and security companies have yet to exploit and there is even a session on “Sexy. Trendy. Technology. Design” – which hopes to give an overview on the very crucial element of design when “putting together” a product.

That said, we havent totally forgotten or swept under the carpet whatever is happening in the web front. I am really hoping to get a session on hands-on working with the Android Platform, With OpenSocial and the commercial aspect of Facebook Applications (Talk by the developer of iRead), and there might even be a session on the most interesting applications and some scope with RFID and MOTES, in delivering solutions such as Smart Homes, which are becoming a basic lifestyle feature as we advance into digital civilization.

I did promise that the Technology Track is going to be an intense Barcamp Session, Didn’t I?
