Proto SE ‘07: We End, defining New Heights

Proto.in SE ‘07 is over. I can’t believe it is, but yep it is. The amount of work that has gone into it, and the way it flowed and the smiles on everyones faces as they networked, talked, and discussed about things was simply fabulous.

It was fantastic to see the involvement from the investor community, quite actively participating in advising, mentoring and instructing the companies as to how to move forward, was a matter that was close to the heart.

It will take a few days to feel the impact of what this edition has accomplished. The day ended on a very good note as I heard news of one of the previous Proto Aluminus close to inking the deal with some investors and also acquiring some clients. It is certainly a moment when the proto story really takes shape.

There are plenty of blog posts across the blogosphere which talk about the companies and their perspectives and all that, so I will skip that part for now. But we will be updating very soon on a detailed analysis of each of these companies – once i do get to recover a bit from my fatique.

Overall, a very impressive end, defining a new beginning of great things to come.

Congratulations to the Proto team for a fantastic show. Proto can take pride in having practically put together an entreprenuer eco system which did not exist prior to this.

Heard that Proto Rocked ..Excellent Job Team ..Would like to see some videos of the event ..I was unlucky to have missed it

Sounds great. Maybe now you can put up a list of the 22 companies which were there. Maybe even the rest of the guys, who didn’t make it.

Assuming of course that nobody has issues with it…

    Congrats for the great work!!!!

I second what Sudhanshu had said.. if there isn’t any problem, publish the list of nominates for the event.

It would be useful for people like me who had unfortunately missed this great event.

    Vivek: Thanks

Jayan: Thank you. You are quite welcome

Krishna: The videos havent come back from the post processing. They will be up soon.

Sudhanshu: You should be able to find the list of the 22 companies on the web. Anyways, the PDF should go up very soon. We are not putting up the rest of the list for one simple reason. They didn’t make the list, in most cases cause their business model isnt refined or validated yet. It wouldnt be fair to them if someone sees their concept and beats them to the market. I would prefer that they better themselves, come back to Proto and graduate from there.

    Prathees: I hope you understand.

    Vijay,

Great job…Next version should not just be an event, should be a rich media vehicle to carry a cartload of brands. It’s about time, I guess.

    Think over.

    best,

    k

    Krish,

I think we have all vowed long time to not see Proto as an event, but as a movement. It has caught up quite well with this edition and will only pick up pace from here.

    And yep, its time.

PS: When are you going to get involved? :)

  • [...] For the past two days, an event named Proto SE brought together entrepreneurs, technologists, investors as well as members of the fourth estate under one roof at IIT Madras. If you would like to experience this event vicariously, you could start by reading several posts on the blogosphere. [...]
