The Nomination process for the companies that wish to present their Dream, Vision and Product on-stage for the upcoming event, will begin next week.

I believe I have not written about the decision in terms of the frequency of the event. Let me take this moment to announce our decisions and planning on that front Proto.in will be a bi-annual event. There will be one in the third week of January and one in the third week of July of every year. One of them will be conducted in Chennai and starting with the next one, we are planning to conduct the event in some of the other cities here in India. Bangalore has shown quite a bit of interest and is the current contender to host the next event. If you are keen on hosting Proto in your city, and have a group of volunteers who are willing to do the ground-work, do get in touch with me.

We have widened our horizon and are looking at companies from across Asia. We are bringing in companies from the likes of countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan etc, and we strongly believe that the diversity and the specialization of focus that we have in each of these regions will allow for collaboration, contribution and outstanding creativity as they all come together – At the end of the day, that’s what Proto.in is all about

We require lots of help from volunteers as we expand, and even with the upcoming event, as there is much to be arranged and to be put in place. If you would like to lend your hands towards it, I believe the entire entrepreneurial community here in India would very much welcome that. Let us be the first to thank you for that.
We have confirmations from Sequoia Capital, who is very keen about joining us for this upcoming event. We also have confirmations from the M&A division of Google Inc, who is quite enthused about this event and has promised to be there.� There are quite a few other developments which are in the pipeline and we will continue to keep you posted and abreast of development, as we move on. The entire team at Proto.in has been striving hard to deliver the best value that we can for the visionaries and entrepreneurs in our midst, and we will continue to strive towards that goal.

Well, the “Summer Edition” of Proto.in is coming up soon. That has been something you have been hearing for quite sometime for now.The dates are fixed on the third week of July, as 21st and 22nd of the month. If there are companies that you are aware of that are building the next big thing that they dream will take on the world, we are keen to hear of it.

This is also in other terms a call for volunteers, and any sponsorship interests, if any that is out there.

As a request to the companies that participated and presented during Proto, if you could send me an email (at vijay@vijayanand.name) with one line feedback of what Proto meant to you, we would really appreciate it. I want to talk to each one of you to get your feedbacks, and also incorporate the feedbacks that you had graciously sent in right after the event. So if you’ve already voiced it, you can rest assured that it is already taken care of for this event. If you havent spoken of it yet, even if it is the smallest of things, Please do and I am quite keen on hearing it from you.

I am expecting nothing less from the tremendous support that you all showed for us and the team at The Knowledge Foundation during Proto.in in January. I look forward to hearing from you and keep in touch.
